Rapa Nui is the second name of Easter Island. It is considered the most remote inhabited island in the world. There is no Wi-Fi in the hotels, the signal from local TV operators is very weak and there is only one place in the city center with free public Internet.
The main thing you need to know about Easter Island is that entry to all national parks where moai statues are located is only possible with a local guide and an individual ticket. You need to book an excursion either in advance on the Internet or look for a free guide right on the spot.

Transport
This is where you can buy tickets to the national parks and where you can also find a local guide.
We thought that we would have fun and carefree riding around the island on a moped without any guides. But it turned out that officially you won't be allowed anywhere without a guide. We found a Rapa Nui man with a car near the ticket office, but you can organize a trip in advance on this website - https://rapanuinationalpark.com.
The famous formation of 15 statues on the Pacific coast
They say that the most picturesque sunrises are here. And our guide told us how he once met aliens here in the middle of the ocean 🙃 In general, as we understood, many here believe in aliens and their active participation in the lives of the ancient Rapanui.
Everything here is like in the most beautiful movies! A stunning beach with perfect sand and a huge palm grove. We recommend that you definitely have a picnic with a view of the Pacific Ocean.
Here are the most beautiful and graceful idols. And although we have not yet learned to distinguish their gender, we think that they definitely wanted to put the most irresistible girls of the island of that time here.
This is the least popular location among tourists, so it is perfect for anyone who wants beautiful shots with idols. It is recommended to see off the sunset here, sitting behind the wide stone backs.
The ruins of the Easter Island settlers' village, located at the foot of the volcano. Viewpoint over the volcano's crater.
The guide said that it is easy to get here without going through the official entrance with tickets (from the opposite side). He advised to come back at sunset.
Visiting the caves was the most exciting adventure on Easter Island. Half of the island is underground with underground passages. And sometimes they are interrupted by picturesque cave pits. But you need to be prepared for such a visit - it is better to wear suitable clothes and do not forget a flashlight, because it is wet, slippery and dark there. And do not even think about getting out of the caves clean - it will definitely not work!
Most of the roads go along the ocean, you want to stop and take photos literally every couple of minutes. You can easily walk to this place from the city - relax, listen to the ocean and admire the emerald waves.
You won't find cheap accommodation on Easter Island. But we found a great option for $110 per night with a private kitchen - we saved on breakfasts and dinners (especially since they usually don't know how to cook well in hotels on the islands).
The most delicious empanadas in the world are here! The fillings are absolutely different, but we tried all the seafood options - with mussels, crab, fish. And the most delicious were with octopus. We ate such delicious octopuses only at Easter and in the Maldives. One empanada is enough to fill you up, and they cost up to $4.
We liked the building in the form of a bungalow made of palm leaves. You immediately immerse yourself in the island atmosphere. It's a pity we were unlucky with the weather - it rained all 3 days, but such a trip cannot be spoiled.
We spent 3 days on the island, and I want to say that it was not enough! Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to swim in the ocean, stroll carefree through the parks and spend a couple of sunsets alone with nature without rushing. It felt like we were a little tired from the trip, and not recharged with the energy of this mystical island. We recommend spending a little more time here, despite the overpriced prices for everything.
