Mostar is considered the most beautiful and romantic city in the Balkans. And we really recommend spending a weekend here. Mostar combines stunning mountain views with medieval architecture. Everything around is reminiscent of knightly times. Walk around and enjoy the colorful streets of the quiet city.
We got to Mostar by high-speed train. From the capital of Bosnia, Sarajevo, there are high-quality European trains, the cost of a round trip is no more than $15 per person.

Stari Most (Old Mostar Bridge)
Sights
The famous Ottoman bridge in Mostar is a symbol of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The bridge that connected Christian and Muslim lands was completely destroyed and reconstructed after the war in the 90s. Now, for fun, the locals arrange diving with it and beg money from tourists. We also supported the jumpers and donated a pretty penny. They say the height is about 25 meters, and the river itself is one of the coldest in the world.
In Mostar, tourists want to photograph every small place. For brighter shots, we recommend the spring-summer period - the city has a lot of greenery and flowers, which will definitely affect your impression.
A view concrete bridge connecting the business center of the city with the railway.
If you walk from the railway station to the city center, this bridge will be the first point that will make you admire the views of the river and take your cameras out of your pockets.
URBAN taste of orient — a cafe with traditional breakfasts and Bosnian coffee. Be sure to book a place. On one of the floors there is a veranda with a view of the Old Mostar Bridge — ask to be seated there, you will be able to take pictures without tourists.
Muslim monastery in the Blagaj village near Mostar.
A fascinating place surrounded by rocks and waterfalls with crystal turquoise water - just 15 minutes by taxi from Mostar. This place looks as magical in person as it does in the photos!
For us, this restaurant became a saving island at +35°. It is surrounded on all sides by small streams, so the air around is filled with the light and pleasant sound of water and the aroma of freshness.
Trains from the capital Sarajevo arrive here. Don't worry if the trains are not running on schedule, we had a whole hour and a half delay on the way back - we just had to wait for the train on the platform.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is not the most popular tourist destination, but it has won the hearts of all our friends who decided to go there on our recommendation. Get inspired to go too! Watch more impressions in our short videos.
