Guide to Santiago
When approaching Santiago, be prepared to see the snow-capped peaks of the Andes. The capital is surrounded by mountains on almost all sides. We enjoyed the sunsets, which painted everything in a Martian red light.
Chile is one of the leading countries in South America in terms of economic indicators. We were expecting to see a developed city with an endless number of stylish and fashionable establishments. Imagine our surprise that in Santiago this is completely undeveloped. In the city center, the lower floors are closed with bars, and the walls are painted with graffiti. This affects the feeling of insecurity. In several supermarkets, we even met sales consultants in bulletproof vests. But to be honest, we did not encounter any problems and enjoyed the city.
At the same time, the city has a lot of stylish modern new buildings, as well as beautiful architectural buildings.
Santiago is a very controversial city, but it certainly has its charm. We recommend you stay here for 2-3 days before going on a tour of the natural attractions of Chile.
